Home Residency on other grounds Offer of Permanent Employment

South Africa Permanent Residency - Permanent Employment

A foreign national who is in the possession of a work permit (including a corporate permit) may apply for permanent residency in South Africa if offered permanent employment, provided that he or she has been employed for a period of at least 5 years within the field for which they were originally employed.

The applicant must be able to prove that the position exists and is intended to be filled by the applicant; as well as that the position could not be filled by a suitably qualified South African citizen or permanent resident.

The Department of Labour will also need to certify that the salary and benefits pertaining to the position are not inferior with those of the current prevailing market.
