South Africa Permanent Residency - Financially Independent

A foreign national may apply for permanent residency in South Africa within the category of "financial independence" by proving a personal net worth of at least ZAR 7.5 Million.

In addition to proving the required minimum net worth, a non-refundable payment of ZAR 75.000 to the Director-General will also be required upon approval of the application.

Individuals receiving permanent residency within this category will be required to refrain from engaging in employment or establishing their own business without the prior approval of the Department of Home Affairs.
