South Africa Permanent Residency - Child of a Citizen

A foreign national may apply for permanent residency in South Africa if they are a child of a South African citizen or permanent resident.

If the applicant is a child under the age of 21, he or she must also submit an application for its confirmation within 2 years of having turned 21, to avoid the permit from being lapsed.

The South African citizen or permanent resident will need to satisfy the Director-General that they are able and willing to support and maintain the foreign relative who is making the application.
