South Africa Permanent Residency - Child of a Citizen

A foreign national may apply for permanent residency in South Africa if they are a child of a South African citizen or permanent resident.

If the applicant is a child under the age of 18, he or she must also submit an application for its confirmation within two years after the date on which the child turns 21 years old, or the permanent residency permit will lapse.

The South African citizen or permanent resident will need to satisfy the Director-General that they are able and willing to support and maintain the foreign relative who is making the application.
